Wind

The Spectral Element of Wind in Stehreel is a symbol of confusion and fun.  It exists in sympathy with the Umbral Element of Chaos and can be harnessed by wizards in the Physical Plane of the world through its three aspects: Wind, Air, and Vacuum.

The main source of wind in the Physical Plane is the atmosphere of the world.  It is said that the God Esmus is bound to the peak of Feng Mountain, the closest to the atmosphere in Stehreel.

On the surface layer of the Spectral Plane, the element of Wind is at its weakest save in the Physical Plane of the world where it has an echo of tangible form.  There are several Specters associated with wind, totem spirits that exist in the surface layer of the Spectral Plane.  They were created by the Fey of Wind.

The Totem Specters of Wind are the Frog, the Hummingbird, and the Bee.

The great Fey of Wind, the weakest of the Demigods are called Pixies.

Draken of Wind

On the middle layer of the Spectral Plane, the element of Wind is strong and steady, a thick whirlwind of gusts and suction.  No Specters journey to this layer of the Spectral Plane, because all of the passages to it are guarded by those touched by the hand of Esmus himself.

Some say that the spirits of those aligned to Wind journey to this layer of the Spectral Plane in death, dwelling in the pockets of updrafts and breezes.

The White Draken, strongest of the Demigods, used to dwell on this layer of the Spectral Plane, but gave up their Spectral forms in favor of Physical forms to guard the world from destruction.

Esmus

In the deepest layer of the Spectral Plane, the element of Wind is so overpowering that it is said no mortal could bear to stand within it.  Only the Gods live here, among them Esmus, the Inkari of Wind.

Despite his age being relatively identical to his four brothers, Esmus is considered the child god and often depicted as a teenager at the oldest. Capricious, dedicated to fun and adventure, and full of vivacious energy, Esmus is frustrated by the Binding that locks him away and has cast his senses to the four winds.

Esmus' official place of binding is at the peak of the tallest mountain on the face of Stehreel, Feng Mountain on the island continent of Nehrahn where the Cave Elves live. It is said that the winds howl so mercilessly on any attempted ascent of the mountain that no one has ever been to its peak and survived. Even the Cave Elves, who do most of their travel inside the mountain, cannot ascend to that wind-battered peak. Esmus only gives one command to his clerics: travel. Everything else he leaves to them.

Esmus is the patron god of the Wood Elves of Stehreel.
