Void

The Umbral Element of Void in Stehreel is a symbol of hunger and feeding.  It exists in sympathy with the Spectral Element of Darkness and can be harnessed by warlocks in the Physical Plane of the world through its three aspects: Void, Absorption, and Consumption.

There isn't a main source of Void in Stehreel, but it is often said to focus deep in the Hunvehlahr Sea.  It is said that Kanatek, Nameless of Void, is buried there.

On the surface layer of the Umbral Plane, the element of Void is at its weakest save in the Physical Plane of the world where it does not have tangible form.  There are several lesser demons associated with void, creations of the Kaiser of Void that can travel the surface layer of the Umbral Plane.

The Lesser Demons of Void are the Consumer, the Reflector, and the Deep One.

The great Kaiser of Void, the weakest of the Demigods, are called Chordata; large, finned, elf-like sea creatures with gills on their necks and home to barnacles, anemones and coral as if they were made of the seabed.

On the middle layer of the Umbral Plane, the element of Void is strong and steady, a maelstrom of need and hunger.  No Lesser Demons journey to this layer of the Umbral Plane, because all of the passages to it are guarded by those touched by the hand of the Kanatek himself.

Some say that the spirits of those aligned to Void journey to this layer of the Umbral Plane in death, dwelling in the pockets of ravenous darkness.

The Teuthida Seriph, strongest of the Demigods, dwell on this layer of the Umbral Plane, forged of void energy.  Large elf-like beings with tentacles instead of jaws, the Teuthida are always hungry.

Kanatek

In the deepest layer of the Umbral Plane, the element of Void is so overpowering that it is said no mortal could bear to stand within it.  Only the Gods live here, among them Kanatek, the Nameless of Void.

Characterized as the hungry darkness, Kanatek is often referred to as the Father of the Void. The Void hungers, and so does Kanatek, constantly needing to consume in order to survive. It is not the need to consume that personifies this deity, however, but instead the result of that consumption. Seeming at odds with his apparent gluttony, Kanatek has become known for something entirely different among his worshipers; he is the Dark God of Duty, Loyalty, and Protection.

Kanatek is the Nameless that is considered most dependable in his goals. He hungers. His fellows among the Nameless are confident that he will always hunger, and therefor they can know his mind. In truth, Kanatek is the most unfathomable of the Nameless. He hungers, and like the other Nameless, is bound inexorably to his element and its desires. However, unlike the majority of his brothers and sisters, Kanatek has changed a great deal since the Binding locked him away in the depths of the abyss. The other Nameless would do well not to assume they know the Father of the Deep that well.

Shaped by the race of Hkahnihn that praise him above all other Nameless, the Deep Demons, Kanatek has grown to champion the causes of his people. While he yet hungers, that hunger has been turned on the oath breaker, the betrayer, and those that harm the weak.
