Sound

The Spectral Element of Sound in Stehreel is a symbol of art and music.  It exists opposite of the Umbral Element of Silence and can be harnessed by wizards in the Physical Plane of the world through its three aspects: Sound, Tone, and Pitch.

There isn't a main source of sound in the Physical Plane, though it is often linked to the orange moon.  It is said that the Goddess Tirael is bound to that moon, and endlessly cries over Stehreel.

On the surface layer of the Spectral Plane, the element of Sound is at its weakest save in the Physical Plane of the world where it has no tangible form.  There are several Specters associated with sound, totem spirits that exist in the surface layer of the Spectral Plane.  They were created by the Fey of Sound.

The Totem Specters of Sound are the Rabbit, the Bat, and the Cricket.

The great Fey of Sound, the weakest of the Demigods are called Sirens.

Draken of Sound

On the middle layer of the Spectral Plane, the element of Sound is strong and steady, a thick harmony of resonance and choral arrangement.  No Specters journey to this layer of the Spectral Plane, because all of the passages to it are guarded by those touched by the hand of Tirael herself.

Some say that the spirits of those aligned to Sound journey to this layer of the Spectral Plane in death, dwelling in the pockets of music and beauty.

The Orange Draken, strongest of the Demigods, used to dwell on this layer of the Spectral Plane, but gave up their Spectral forms in favor of Physical forms to guard the world from destruction.

Tirael

In the deepest layer of the Spectral Plane, the element of Sound is so overpowering that it is said no mortal could bear to stand within it.  Only the Gods live here, among them Tirael, the Inkari of Sound.

Tirael is one of the least understood Goddesses. Often depicted as the Weeping Goddess, many who know of the deities of Stehreel tend to write her off as an unimportant force. Despite that, Tirael has a very active and important impact in the world. As the Goddess of music and the arts, the orange Goddess has touched the lives of writers and creators everywhere. Perhaps she is commonly seen as weeping because she's bemoaning the wasted potential of her worshipers.

Tirael is depicted in statues constantly crying. Her moon, the orange one, is often depicted in drawings with a teardrop on it to signify that crying. It has become such an excepted part of her nomenclature that even her clerics who might know her better than that often see her in that state. Her tears have taken on varied meanings because of that fact; she cries for the poor and the disenfranchised, she weeps in joy at the reunion of lovers and the dance they engage in, she weeps in longing for a future in which her people are not hounded to death by the demons of the Nameless, and she weeps in bittersweet love at the creations of her children.

Tirael is one of the matron Goddesses of the Moon Elves of Stehreel.
